Council approves downtown library

At its budget workshop, the Pensacola City Council agreed to start work on a new downtown public library. It will be built on the site of the old fire station that is behind the current library. This will allow the old one to stay open during construction. Cost $6 million – from Local Option Sales Tax funds.
