The Board of County Commissioners sent out this update:
Tuesday, November 18, 2014 – 9:45am
Since the flood event in April, the remaining portions of asphalt and curb have further deteriorated. This has prompted Escambia County to revise the contract and plans to include complete roadway reconstruction between Fairview Drive and Clearwater Avenue (see illustration 1 in the attached PDF version of the newsletter). Full roadway replacement will also be performed in conjunction with the Emerald Coast Utilities Authority (ECUA), which desired to make further improvements to its infrastructure including additional sewer main replacement and water line upgrades.
While the construction plans were being revised and contracts amended, the County stopped its contractor’s work temporarily, which allowed ECUA to complete its improvements. The County’s contractor resumed construction with amended plans on November 17. The County anticipates the project will be completed by February 2015.
