Duwayne update: Surgery went well

health01x300
At little before 6 p.m., Duwayne Escobedo came out of surgery. The tumor, the size of the tip of a small finger, was removed and the brain “shifted” immediately back into a better position. The surgeon was placed with how the brain reacted to the surgery. In ICU recovery, Duwayne demonstrated good motor skills and responsiveness. It’s early but there appeared to be no noticeable impairment.

The surgeon removed as much of the tumor as possible. Pathology will determine more about the cancer and will help set the course for further treatment, which will probably include radiation and chemo.

Thank you for your prayers.
