The word from Cumulus is Pensacola Speaks is a welcomed addition to News Talk 1370AM WCOA. With little fanfare –and primarily this blog and my social media–we have seen a steady increase in callers. We’ve had no trouble booking guests, next week has only two open slots.
I still need to perfect the show’s timing, but we are getting there. The one-hour format is perfect and fits well with my newspaper and this blog.
Today we have Ryan Wiggins, chief political strategist for Full Contact Strategies. She is young, bright and considered one of the best rising political strategists in Florida. She will give us a preview in the 2015 Legislative Session that starts on Monday. Ryan grew up in Pensacola. She is the daughter of former City Councilman Jack Nobles and daughter-in-law of former Mayor Mike Wiggins. Ryan interned with the paper in 2002.
Eryka Wallace is a communications expert. She graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi and is the Diversity Initiatives Coordinator for the Office of Equity, Diversity & International Affairs at the University of West Florida. Eryka was named an Inweekly Rising Star this past January. We will talk about social media – pluses and minuses.
