One of 10 women who will be honored this week as 2015 International Women of Courage Award recipients in Washington, D.C., will be the featured speaker for the Third Annual International Women’s Day Celebration sponsored by the Women’s Civic Forum and the Gulf Coast Citizen Diplomacy Council.

The celebration will take place on March 10 at the Governor Perry House at 6 East Wright Street, beginning with a reception at 11:30 a.m. The event is free and open to the public, but reservations are required as space is limited. Reservations may be made by email to dianepmack@gmail.com.

The award is made by the U.S. State Department in recognition of women who have shown exceptional courage and leadership in advocating for human rights and empowerment, often at great personal risk, and who have played transformative roles in their societies.

The identity of the award recipient who will speak at the Northwest Florida celebration will be revealed after March 5.
