Press release: IMPACT 100 Pensacola Bay Area is pleased to announce the honor of receipt of the Public Citizen of the Year Award from the National Association of Social Workers, Northwest Florida Unit. Additionally, IMPACT 100 has also been nominated for this same award on the state level.
The National Association of Social Workers (NASW) is the largest membership organization of professional social workers. NASW works to enhance the professional growth and development of its members, to create and maintain professional standards, and to advance sound social policies. The NASW established the Public Citizen of the Year Award to honor an outstanding member of the community (who is not a social worker) whose accomplishments exemplify the values and mission of professional social work. The award is presented on a local level as well as state level.
The award recipient criteria must fulfill the following criteria:
• Make a significant contribution to an area or population of concern to the social work profession such as
-at-risk or vulnerable populations
-quality of life in communities
-social issues
• Act with courage
• Demonstrate outstanding leadership
• Exemplify social work values and ethics

IMPACT 100 is an all-volunteer organization with 100% of membership dues used to fund grants in five focus areas – Arts & Culture, Family, Education, Health & Wellness, and Environment Recreation & Preservation
Celebrating 11 years of leveraging collective resources to further the mission – to know and serve the community, to collectively fund significant grants to charitable initiatives, and to set an example of effective philanthropy – IMPACT 100 has funded 57 grants totaling $6.17 million dollars since 2004.
