Tonight Downtown Improvement Board and downtown business owners will meet to discuss the future of Gallery Night. Last week when the bar and restaurant owners met, several owners and managers said they had been warned that changes had to be made to avoid a “Panama City Beach incident.”

The Panama City Beach City Council yesterday passed on first reading three ordinances to tone down Spring Break celebrations within its city limits. The council voted to ban alcohol on its beach during Spring Break next year. The leaders also voted to close bars at 2 a.m., ban open containers of alcoholic beverages in commercial parking lots unless under the surveillance and control of the business, and outlaw parking on right of way after dark.
