Bratt Elementary Wins $1,000 Wellness Challenge

Bratt Elementary School has been named the winner of the first annual Choose Wellness Challenge. The school was presented a $1,000 prize. The challenge was to see which school or major department could achieve the highest level of participation in the challenge by the end of the school year. Participants completed four steps to promote health and wellness, potentially reducing the district’s health care and lost work time costs

Ransom Middle School Gymnasium Named the “Joseph E. Murphy Gymnasium”

On Tuesday, August 18, 2015, the Escambia County School Board voted to name the gymnasium at Ransom Middle School the “Joseph E. Murphy Gymnasium” in honor of Joseph E. Murphy. Mr. Murphy said he never dreamed of such an honor. “To have this honor bestowed upon me is very humbling,” he said. “No one can ever feel worthy of this wonderful honor…I am very grateful.”
