Beware of gift cards

If you bought a gift card at Experience Salon, you are out of luck. The new owners – former employees of Experience – have told customers that will not honor gift cards issued by their former boss, Phil Fennell. See letter: exp-card

We’ve heard similar complaints about other businesses that have closed leaving gift cards in their wake.

Update: Steve Izzo called. He did not buy the business. Fennell’s filed bankruptcy and shutdown. Izzo said he had liens on the equipment so he formed a new company with Fennell’s daughter, Lauren, and her husband Jeff. He rented the same space and hired the old employees.

“We tried to keep all the old Experience Salon employees, but we got nothing for the gift cards,” Izzo says.
