Pensacola airport fares vs. Florida and Gulf Coast airports

The Pensacola International Airport ranks 15th among Florida’s 20 airports when it comes to average airfares, according to FAA report for the first quarter of 2016. It’s second among airports along our Gulf Coast area. New Orleans’ average airfare is about $130 less than Pensacola’s average ticket price.

When the City of Pensacola issued its press release last week, it included Gulfport-Biloxi, Mobile, Ft. Walton Beach, Panama City and Tallahassee for the comparison but excluded “The Big Easy.”

New Orleans is about a half-hour longer drive than traveling from Pensacola to the Tallahassee airport, but some might not mind the trek to save $130. Given a choice of driving to Tallahassee or NOLA, only a die-hard FSU fan would pick Tallahassee.
