Pensacola City Council has approved other settlements

Inweekly has begun reviewing Pensacola City Council minutes to see if the legislative body had been called on to approve over lawsuit settlements.

Our initial review:

In 2015, Council voted to accept BP Oil Spill settlement. The mayor could not accept it without council approval.

In May 2013, the Pensacola City Council approved settlement of the lawsuit of Crestview Site & Underground, Inc. v. City of Pensacola for $99,999.99.

In December 2013, Pensacola City Council approved settlement for Phoenix Construction Services, Inc. v. City of Pensacola regarding work at the airport.

In 2011, Pensacola City Council approved settlement in Victor Steen v. City of Pensacola.

And from Google: In 2007, the Pensacola City Council approved a $35,000 settlement for a teenage girl who sued the city after claiming a police officer forced her to do jumping jacks while topless.
