Blue Wahoo named Gold Glove winner

Minor League Baseball and Rawlings Sporting Goods Company, Inc., announced Zach Vincej as recipient of the 2016 Rawlings Gold Glove Award for defensive excellence at shortstop.

Vincej recorded a .991 fielding percentage in 105 games for the Blue Wahoos. Vincej, 25, who had 423 total chanced and turned 54 double plays, was the only shortstop with a field percentage north of .985.

Vincej was selected by Cincinnati in the 37th round of the 2012 First-Year Player Draft out of Pepperdine. While a junior at Pepperdine, Vincej was selected as a prestigious ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove winner.

Vincej will be competing for the Peoria Javelinas in the Arizona Fall League which begins October 11.
