Commissioner upset about Saenger

Commissioner Grover Robinson isn’t happy about a Michigan paint contractor getting the work over a local business that was apparently the low bidder. Robinson thought that Robertson Curtis had the contract.

“This is a problem. If a local sub-contractor is the low bidder, then they should get the work,” Grover says.

BTW: Fellow commissioner, Wilson Robertson, owns Robinson Curtis. His company bid on the business early last year before he was elected commissioner. He is no longer active in the day-to-day operations of the business. Wayne Cotton runs the business.

Commissioner Robinson said that the county commission is discussing this Thursday the issue of out-of-town firms getting roughly half of the county’s engineering and architecture work.
