Bring ID to Open Gaetz Day

Press Announcement: Open Gaetz Day Update

The Office of Congressman Matt Gaetz is grateful to announce higher than anticipated interest regarding our inaugural Open Gaetz Day, Thursday, February 23, 2017. Our expectations grew from just Milton and Pace residents to the entire district at large and possibly more.

Since hundreds of people are expected to attend various Open Gaetz Day events, we want to encourage everyone planning to participate to arrive early. Seating will be very limited, especially at the Grover T’s BBQ Briefing Luncheon. To ensure District 1 residents receive priority, we ask attendees to have their I.D.s within their possession.

Doors will open at 11:30 a.m. at Grover T’s for District 1 constituents. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for the Town Hall at the Oops Alley Bowling and Entertainment Center for local residents.

We hope all Northwest Florida constituents planning to participate in Open Gaetz Day find it stimulating and insightful. We understand not everyone agrees on every political issue, thus dissent, discord and protests are expected. We believe dissent and protests are signs of a healthy democracy, but most of all we ask everyone attending to behave in a non-violent and non-disruptive manner. After all, we are fellow Northwest Floridians. We care about each other and we want to respect everyone’s right to participate peacefully and productively.
