Chamber releases Triumph Gulf Coast survey results

Today, the Greater Pensacola Chamber of Commerce released results from its Triumph Gulf Coast project survey. With over 100 respondents, the survey found that sixty two percent favor spending on infrastructure projects in Northwest Florida.

Twenty percent of respondents favored grants to support career programs of excellence at K-20 institutions, and eleven percent supported projects that focus on workforce training.

“These survey results send a strong signal that the Escambia County business community sees improved infrastructure as essential to job growth in our area,” said Chamber Policy Committee Chair Justin Beck. “Now it is time to focus on identifying the projects that will bring the best and most jobs to Escambia County.”

Ad valorem tax rate reduction: 1 – 0.97%

Public infrastructure projects for construction, expansion, or maintenance which that are shown to enhance economic recovery, diversification, and enhancement of development: 64 – 62.14%

Grants to support programs of excellence that prepare students for future occupations and careers at K-20 institutions: 21 – 20.39%

Grants to support programs that provide participants transferrable, sustainable workforce skills: 12 – 11.65%

Grants to Visit Florida and Fresh From Florida for the purpose of advertising and promoting NW Florida tourism and agriculture: 5 – 4.85%
