Pensacola stores escape Winn Dixie closures

Southeastern Grocers, parent company of Winn-Dixie, announced yesterday that it will close 94 underperforming supermarkets in seven southern states as part of restructuring plan.

“This course of action enables us to continue writing the story for our company and our iconic, heritage banners in the Southeast,” said Anthony Hucker, president and CEO of the company in a statement.

Fortunately, the Pensacola locations are not on the closure list.

The nearest store closings will be in south Alabama:

Daphne, 3075 Us Hwy 98
Gulf Shores, Hwy 59 and 16th Avenue
Mobile, 2502 Schillinger Rd S
Robertsdale, 21951 D Hwy 59
