ME files lawsuit to avoid audit

Medical Examiner Andrea Minyard yesterday filed a complaint for declaratory judgment to block Escambia, Santa Rosa, Okaloosa and Walton counties from auditing her financial records.

The counties have started an audit of Gulf Coast Autopsy Physicians, the Minyard’s physicians group. She doesn’t dispute her financial records are public records, but she asks the court to rule the right to records demonstrating compliance with the contracts with the counties does not include the right to audit all of her financial records.
