Where did Underhill lose the most support

In the 2014 Republican primary, Doug Underhill beat two-term County Commissioner Gene Valentino by earning 62.51 percent of the vote.  Four years later, he’s the incumbent edge out well-financed challenger Alan McMillan with only 51.68 percent.

Underhill improved his percentage of the vote at only two precincts–Myrtle Grove United Methodist (2.1%) and Holy Spirit Catholic Church (2.9%). He lost the biggest percentage of votes at Warrington United Methodist (-28.2%), County Complex (-18.2%) and Warrington Presbyterian (-18.2%).

On Perdido Key – where Underhill had been battling residents and McMillan supporters over opening a beach access, Underhill received 50.6 percent of the vote, down 7.7 percent from four years ago. The commissioner won the precinct (#105) by only 12 votes. In 2014, he won it by 125 votes.
