Last week, the U.S. House of Representatives passed bipartisan legislation that expressed congressional support for the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).
The bill passed in a 357-22 vote. All the “no” votes were from conservative Republicans, including our congressman, Matt Gaetz.
Rep. Gaetz told the Northwest Florida Daily News that he didn’t vote against the alliance. His issue was the bill’s language that he believed could conceivably leave the United States alone to fully fund NATO.
Inweekly found his district didn’t agree with his vote, although few actually knew about it. Nearly 60 percent of Northwest Florida voters are satisfied with his overall job performance to date.

METHODOLOGY: The persons sampled were likely First Congressional District of Florida voters with a voting score of 100% for the general election cycles. The voters were called using an Interactive Voice Response (IVR) system during the hours of 12-8 p.m. on Jan. 26-27. The Margin of Error for this study is +/- 3.5% with a confidence level of 95%.
