Escambia County has 32 new COVID-19 cases – the most in the past seven days. Â Of these cases, only one was tied to a nursing home and 8 were non-Florida residents. The percentage of positive cases for the day is 4.7%.
The state had 2,610 new cases – and the positive percentage was 10.3% for 25,200 test results entered.

TALLAHASSEE — The Florida Department of Health on Wednesday released numbers about the coronavirus in the state. Here are some takeaways:
— 82.719: Total number of cases.
— 2,610: Increase in cases from a Tuesday count.
— 3,018: Deaths of Florida residents.
— 25: Increase in deaths from a Tuesday count, with deaths of residents who tested positive in Broward, Columbia, Miami-Dade, Hendry, Hillsborough, Jackson, Manatee, Orange, Osceola, Palm Beach, Pinellas, St. Lucie and Volusia counties.
— 3: Deaths in Columbia County, with the death of a 30-year-old woman verified Wednesday.
— 1,588: Deaths of residents or staff members of long-term care facilities.
— 10: Increase in long-term care deaths from a Tuesday count.
— 52.6: Percentage of deaths involving residents or staff members of long-term care facilities.
— 12,389: Cumulative number of hospitalizations because of the pandemic.
— 183: Increase in hospitalizations from a Tuesday count.
— 1,486,759: Test results received by the Department of Health.
— 5.6: Percentage of positive test results.
