This week Inweekly will publish its COVID-19 Ballsy plan.
Escambia County is sitting on $14.32 million and trying to figure out to spend it. The funds represent a quarter of the approximately $57 million the county will receive under the federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act.
We polled 739 Escambia voters on how the funds should be spent. Several Florida counties have already begun distributing dollars to households and small businesses. We found our residents want to see the same thing done here.
Households
Nearly three out of four want checks sent out to help families pay past due bills.

Small Businesses
An even larger percentage want to see checks sent to small businesses most impacted by the pandemic. They would also like to see PPE kits available.

METHODOLOGY:
The voters called were those only with landlines and were called using an Interactive Voice Response (IVR) system during the hours of 6PM to 8PM on July 10. The Margin of Error for this study is +/- 4.5% with a confidence level of 95%.
