WSRE: Beyond the Menu

This year’s WSRE Wine & Food Classic fundraiser was cancelled due to the pandemic; however, a new TV show will offer viewers a similar culinary experience with the opportunity to sample local cuisine while supporting public television. Hosted by Sherri Hemminghaus Weeks, “Beyond the Menu” will premiere on WSRE at 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 26, featuring four of the station’s longtime restaurant partners: The District: Seville Steak & Seafood, McGuire’s Irish Pub, Pot Roast & Pinot and Skopelos at New World.

“Viewers will learn about each restaurant’s history, meet the chefs and explore their signature dishes,” said the show’s producer, Jennifer Hill. “After watching, they’ll be ready to dine out, and the restaurants are offering WSRE supporters a great opportunity to do so.”

With a $100 donation made to the WSRE-TV Foundation, donors will receive a pack of dining vouchers good for a chef’s choice menu item and wine pairing at each restaurant. Dining voucher packs are available to the first 500 donors and will be shipped in time for holiday giving.

Donations are being accepted online at wsre.org/beyondthemenu.
