Nodine won’t run for Mobile mayor

Mobile County Commissioner Steve Nodine has apparently decided not to run for mayor of Mobile against incumbent Sam Jones (Read). Nodine tried to use crime as the catalyst for his campaign trial balloon. He was shot down by local officials and the media for hurting the city’s image internationally (Read Nodine’s actions costly). During the week that Nodine contemplated his aborted mayoral run, local BPM employees pushed their friends to vote online for Nodine in a poll about his possible candidacy done by a Mobile TV station.

Steve Nodine sat with Comm. Gene Valentino at the BOCC’s June workshop on economic development to support Valentino’s plan, even though it is very different from how Mobile runs economic development.
