Real News podcast: Poppy Garcia

Last week, I had a great conversation with local artist Poppy Garcia about the importance of outdoor art.

“For some people, especially in a smaller communities such as ours, public art is some of the only way that these people are going to be able to experience art in the first place,” said Poppy. “When I was growing up, the surf mural that was Main Street and some of these other older, older murals that were around Pensacola were some of the first pieces of art that I ever saw and, admittedly, probably some of the big inspiration for me to want to do public art.”
