Earlier this month, Peggy Schiller filed a lawsuit to disqualify her opponent Rebekah Jones in the Democratic primary for Congress – District 1. She asserts that Jones failed to be a registered Democrat for the full year leading up to the June qualifying deadline.
On WCOA 1370AM/104.9FM, Schiller explained that her campaign received an anonymous tip that Jones had changed her voter registration in Maryland for a brief period last summer. Schiller verified the tip with the election supervisor in Montgomery County, Maryland, who provide certified copies that show Jones changing her party affiliation.
Jones has disputed the documents filed with the lawsuit.
