Celebrate the Blue Angels at Sept. Gallery Night

On Friday, Sept. 16, from 5–9 pm, Gallery Night Pensacola’s theme is “Celebrate the Blue Angels!” presented by Publix with main event partner the Naval Aviation Museum Foundation. Gallery Night’s September event will highlight the art of Katie Bodden.

Gallery Night’s September Featured Artist is Katie Bodden, a Navy brat who considers Pensacola her hometown and the inspiration for her photography. She is quoted, “My passion for photography is fueled by the discovery of the beauty held in this place-Pensacola, and I love being able to showcase it through my photos. You can usually catch me chasing the sun at sunrise or sunset, capturing our world-class sandy white beaches, and last but never least, observing all things military aviation.”

As the National Naval Aviation Museum Volunteer Flight Line Photographer, Bodden has recently had several of her photos published in the “National Naval Aviation Museum’s Blue Angels: A Pictorial History” book.

“I am incredibly excited and honored to be the Featured Artist of September’s 2022 Gallery Night-Celebrating the Blue Angels! When you see my photos, I hope they allow you to feel like you are enjoying some of these unforgettable moments with me.”

Gallery Night Pensacola’s unique monthly themes set the tone for each event’s art, performers, musical performance stages, and activities that are sure to please. Gallery Night is an all-ages community arts and culture event on the third Friday of each month from 5 –9 pm, made possible by Publix, our excellent community partner.

This month’s Gallery Night patrons will have the opportunity to MEET THE BLUE ANGELS from 6-8 pm, and thanks to our main event partner, the Naval Aviation Museum Foundation, patrons can take flight with the Blue Angel Cockpit Experience, a one-of-a-kind flight simulator. Enjoy all this and more, along with the Blue Anchor Belles, a patriotic 1940’s/1950’s military spouse trio bringing the “Boogie Woogie” to downtown Palafox on our Garden Street Stage!

Enjoy a mini art zone in front of Artel Gallery with Artel member artists, plus a Palafox Mini-Market on Government Street featuring the market’s finest artists. T-Mobile sponsors Gallery Night Art Zones.

Participating downtown bars and restaurants are open and serving guests. Additionally, local shops and galleries will remain open late, providing the opportunity to shop for unique gifts and wares.

Gallery Night Pensacola’s Board of Directors encourages mask usage for those who are not vaccinated or are at high health risk.

Those interested can find more information and updates on artists, performers, special events, sponsors, and more on Gallery Night’s social media pages and website (gallerynightpensacola.org). GNP’s website offers an interactive event map, artist list, performance schedule, and more.
