DeSantis’ push for Dhillon fails to help in RNC chair race

Ronna McDaniel has won her fourth term as chair of the Republican National Committee, thanks to an endorsement from Donald Trump, leaving little doubt about the former president’s hold on the party.

Gov. Ron DeSantis appeared to back Harmeet Dhillon from California. During an interview on “The Charlie Kirk Show” yesterday, DeSantis said, “We’ve had three substandard election cycles in a row, ’18, ’20, and ’22, and I’d say ’22 was the worst…I think we need a change. I think we need to get some new blood in the RNC. I like what Harmeet Dhillon has said.”

Dhillon tried to capitalize on DeSantis’ statement, initialing posting on her website that DeSantis had endorsed her. She later took it down but said it added momentum to her bid for the chair. Apparently it wasn’t enough.
