The Florida Department of Transportation will open the westbound –Gulf Breeze to Pensacola– span of the Chappie James Bridge by 6 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 14. The multi-use path on the westbound span will be open to cyclists and pedestrians once it’s completed. Multiple others tasks also remain to be completed, including the U.S. 98 tie-ins and median areas, the Gulf Breeze wayside park and bridge painting. Completion of the project is currently estimated for this summer.
