Santa Rosa listed as GOP stronghold

Numbers released this week show the Republican Party of Florida had built a nearly 500,000-voter registration edge over the Florida Democratic Party as of the end of May. Here are counties where the largest percentages of voters were registered as Republicans:

— Lafayette County: 70.2 percent

— Holmes County: 67.7 percent

— Gilchrist County: 65.6 percent

— Baker County: 64.1 percent

— Walton County: 62.9 percent

— Union County: 61 percent

— Washington County: 59.9 percent

— Santa Rosa County: 59.4 percent

— Dixie County: 59.3 percent

— Nassau County: 58.1 percent
