Meet the Warrington Prep principal

Warrington Preparatory Academy has hired Erica Foster as its founding principal.

Why this matters: Charter Schools USA took over Warrington Middle School in June, and classes start in August.

  • Warrington Preparatory Academy is holding a job fair on Monday, July 10 from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. Information can found at www.warringtonprep.org.

Dig Deeper: Foster has accumulated a diverse range of roles and experiences over the past 15 years. She started her career as a special education teacher and transitioned into the role of school counselor. She earned her Bachelor of Social Work from University of Southern Mississippi. She continued her educational journey to earn a Master of Education in school counseling and Specialist in Counseling from Mississippi College. She also earned her Specialist in Educational Leadership and Doctor of Education from Delta State University in Cleveland Mississippi.

“We are so excited to have Dr. Foster join our new school family,” said Eddie Ruiz, state superintendent for Charter Schools USA. “Warrington Preparatory Academy offers a tremendous opportunity to make a significant difference in the lives of our students. With this exceptional leader, we believe her impact will grow to include not only the students, but to the overall community and beyond.”

Warrington Preparatory Academy recently transitioned from Warrington Middle district school to Warrington Preparatory Academy charter school with a goal of changing its trajectory from decades of failing to become a passing school. Renaissance Charter Foundation, Inc. holds the charter for the school and Charter Schools USA manages the school’s day-to-day operations. All students currently zoned to Warrington Middle School are also zoned to Warrington Preparatory Academy and have guaranteed placement if they choose to enroll.
