Bishop Ricard continues to recover

The parishioners at Sacred Heart Cathedral were told today that Bishop John Ricard continues to recover from his stroke. The congregation at the 11 a.m. service were told their bishop can walk without assistance, has full use of his hands and has no speech problems. He does have some trouble with short-term memory, but remembers people when he meets them. Bishop Ricard has been concelebrating daily Mass.

The Most Rev. John Ricard suffered a stroke on December 22. He has headed the head the Pensacola-Tallahassee diocese since 1997.
