Letter on ECSO reassignment

The daily newspaper has published an article on the reassignment of Bill Chavers from Chief Deputy to OIC of Traffic, DUI and Neighborhood Task Force. Sheriff Morgan in a memorandum to the his staff stated that Capt. Chavers’ reassignment was part of his vision of the administration to afford “other officers opportunities to serve in command staff positions…The goal of these efforts is to continually identify men and women who exhibit those qualities for future positions as sheriffs, chiefs of police and directors of federal agencies.”

The PNJ article, at least the online version, failed to publish the actual memo: Chavers_ltr.
