Guava Opens Its Doors

PENSACOLA, FL – Looking for a little something different? Join the Downtown Improvement Board (DIB) and the Downtown community as we welcome Guava…something different on Friday, December 1, 2006. Guava, Pensacola’s newest fine furnishings store, will be opening the doors of 8 Palafox Place at 10:00 a.m. with the help of Mayor John Fogg and DIB Chairman Dan Lozier.

Behind the avocado green and blood orange logo, Guava’s customers will find home furnishings and accents, lighting, area rugs and gift items ranging in styles from classic and contemporary to Asian influence – all with a focus on clean, crisp lines. Items can be purchased directly from the floor or special ordered in a customer’s personal style. In addition, the store will market quality condominium packages.

Over the past few months, proprietors Daleton Patterson and Michael Weiss have given their new space quite a facelift to reveal the original 1910 ceramic tile floors and exposed brick walls. This contemporary store is being designed to fit seamlessly into Downtown’s Historic District.

“We believe that good things are coming for Downtown,” says Weiss, “We are excited about the possibilities that the new residential developmentsbring.”

With 5 residential projects coming out of the ground in the downtown area and 5 more planned to appear in short order, the future seems bright for Guava; and its proprietors know that. They have invested $75,000 of their personal funds with the confidence of a history of condominium consulting to back their decision. With the addition of another design outlet, Downtown Pensacola is quickly becoming a destination for fine Interior Design in addition to its reputation for fine art, culture and food.

Guava will hold regular business hours Tuesday through Saturday 10:00 a.m.to 6:00 p.m. with extended hours during the Holiday season. For moreinformation on the store call (850) 607-7945 or join us Downtown for the Grand Opening and witness something different for yourself.
