Reeves and private parking lots

On “Real News with Rick Outzen” this morning, Pensacola Mayor D.C. Reeves discussed the new Florida law that requires companies managing private parking lots to be more transparent. He also touches on the Baptist’s old campus in the West Moreno District.

“I’m tired of being the human shield for private parking lots,” he said.

The mayor gave some examples of the rules under the new law. “For example, you have to post what the fines are out front. You have to say in clear in caps that says, ‘This is not a government entity.’ It’s got to say that on your ticket.”

He continued, “And we’ve got companies in this town that their company that sends out tickets, just happens to be called ‘Municipal Parking.’ I wonder why. I’m sure it’s not to create confusion.”
