Daily Outtakes: Let’s have a public debate on indoor sports facility

The pressure to drop the proposed indoor sports facility continues to mount. Many of the arguments are very similar to those used when we were pushing for downtown baseball stadium 20 years ago.

  • We should have public debate on the issue – like the old Panhandle Tiger Bay Club. No personal attacks but civil, informed public discourse.

We can televise it on WSRE with Jeff Weeks as the moderator, maybe even hold it before a live audience.

We can discuss the proposed sports facility and other alternative mentioned by the opposition, such as a convention center.
