Cushman & Wakefield has arranged the $7 million sale of a shopping center located at 6235 N. Davis Highway where Hobby Lobby and Books-A-Million are tenants. The building was built in 1987 by a subsidiary of Wal-Mart.
- It has 103,485 square feet across two tenant spaces: Hobby Lobby 70,100 sq. ft. and Books-A-Million 33,385 sq. ft. .
Cushman & Wakefield represented the seller, Triple A Properties, in the transaction. The buyer, Destiny Worship Center, plans to convert the center into a church. Books-A-Million will either shutter its store altogether or reduce its footprint at the center, according to the press announcement.
History: The Escambia County Property Appraiser’s office has the site appraised at $6,965,988 – land $1,572,500, improvements $5,393,498.
- Wal-Mart Stores sold the property to Triple A Properties for $3.75 million in February 2002.
Destiny Worship Center – a non-denominational church that started in Destin.

- Destiny Worship Center has churches in Destin, Freeport, Crestview, Panama City Beach, Fort Walton Beach, Kenya and Nicaragua.

They need to stay over there and not come to Pensacola. We have a Church on nearly every corner!!

I love it! We have liquor shops, hemp stores, adult outlets and more all over our tiny county. But yet….when a church attempts to move into a site, they’re booed! It’s time to put in place more ministries that will reach the world with the message of the Cross where all are welcomed and all are fed!
