Pensacola Police Report
Police were dispatched to Sluggo’s early Saturday morning after two female employees were attacked and the business was robbed by a man who had ordered a couple of beers.
The women, ages 26 and 29, told police they were in the bar cleaning up around 1:15 a.m. Saturday when a man entered Sluggo’s, 2403 W. Cervantes St., ordered a beer and began talking with the 26-year-old woman.
The man walked around the business and then ordered another beer before he walked around to the end of the bar, held his hand in front of his pants as if holding a gun and told the younger employee, “This is a stick up.â€
The woman called for the other employee and the man then began fighting with them. He reportedly pushed the younger employee against the bar counter and hit her several times in the face. She told Officer Sarah Barbosa that at one point, the man also threw something and hit her in the face. The older employee said she tried to get the man off her co-worker by hitting him with a broom.
Before leaving the business, the man got an undisclosed amount of cash from the register. He was described as a black male in his 30s, stocky build, and was wearing a dark blue shirt and dark jeans. He was clean shaven and had a shaved head.
Anyone having information on the incident is asked to contact Detective Tarlanda Gooden at 435 – 1972 or the Pensacola Police Department at 435 – 1900.
