Additional Boom Closures & Tar Ball Sighting

Escambia County Press Release:
Boom will be deployed in the following three areas:
Davenport Bayou
Star Lake
Palafox Marina

Absorbent boom is being placed along the protective boom in the following locations reported earlier this evening:
Kees Bayou
Russell Bayou
Perdido Key Cove

The boom will not be deployed at the following location:
Holiday Harbor

Boat traffic needing access in or out of boom locations, should call 850-736-2261.

DEP has reported tar balls and sheen outside the Pensacola Pass. Unified Command is sending skimmers from the Perdido Pass to begin skimming operations. Local vessels monitoring the Pensacola Pass have not been able to see either the tar balls or sheen.
