Press release: The Northwest Florida Federation of Labor, AFL-CIO is excited to announce the endorsement of Jesse Casey. Mr. Casey is running as a candidate for Escambia County Commissioner District 1. After screening Jesse Casey, the executive board for the Northwest Florida AFL-CIO carried a recommendation for endorsement to the delegates of the NW FL AFL-CIO and the organization voted to endorse Jesse Casey.
As a 50-year resident of Escambia county, Mr. Casey has resided in district 1. He is a general contractor with an intricate understanding about the growing concerns of Escambia county’s outdated infrastructure. Actively attending over 500 county commission meetings, Jesse Casey is familiar with the challenges and opportunities facing Escambia county. In addition, Mr. Casey has appointments on a variety of community boards such as the Board of Adjustments, Step Out and Walk for Diabetes Board, and a past member of the Escambia Mass Transit Advisory Board. With his contribution to local churches, children’s charities and serving in the Civil Air Patrol, Jesse Casey is not only a part of the community but is fully engaged in the community.
Our decision was simple. Mr. Casey is the candidate best positioned to represent the taxpayers in county commission district one. As a county commissioner, Jesse Casey promotes values that are consistent with the values of working people in Escambia county. We see in Mr. Casey a candidate with integrity and a man who is willing to work together for the common good of the citizens of Escambia county. Jesse Casey will go into office with plans that will benefit his constituents’ quality of life. He is for stronger infrastructure. He is for getting rid of the red tape and bureaucracy that hinders progress for small businesses to grow. The ideas Jesse Casey will implement on day one as a county commissioner all leads to job creation and opportunities for local businesses to flourish in Escambia county. Jesse Casey believes in Escambia county; therefore, he believes in working people.
It is the position of the Northwest Florida AFL-CIO that because of Mr. Casey’s common sense attitude and willingness to build bridges instead of choosing to divide, he is the candidate that will accomplish the most for district one specifically and Escambia county in general.
