Associated Industries of Florida (AIF) has unveiled its 2026 Voting Records Report. The report tracks more than 2,500 votes cast on 47 bills. The nonprofit bills itself as “the most exhaustive and complete record of the Legislature’s collective approach to the concerns of Florida’s employers.”

Background: Formed in 1920, AIS is a voluntary association of diversified businesses created to foster an economic climate in Florida conducive to the growth, development, and welfare of industry and business and the people of the state

The Voting Records Publication is the gold standard publication that Florida employers review to assess how members of the Legislature performed on their issues. AIF has published it for more than five decades.

  • “After every Legislative Session for the last 52 years, Florida employers are able to turn to AIF’s Voting Records report to better understand how lawmakers voted on issues affecting the state’s business community,” said AIF President and CEO Brewster Bevis, calling the scorecard “a meaningful snapshot of a legislator’s support for Florida’s job creators.”

AIF Vice President of Governmental Affairs Adam Basford added that the 2026 Session “produced a number of meaningful outcomes” for employers, even as “several unsuccessful proposals raised concerns around increased regulatory burdens, litigation exposure, and long-term cost impacts.”

LOCAL LAWMAKERS

Among the Northwest Florida delegation, Rep. Alex Andrade had the highest percentage of votes on the key AIF issues, 92%, and Sen. Don Gaetz had 91%. Both were above the average for their respective chambers—Florida House 85% and Florida Senate 79%.

Rep. Nathan Boyles came at 86%, one point above the House average, and Rep. Michelle Salzman fell four points below with 81%.

CHAMBER COMPARISON

The AIF Voting Record Report is different from the Florida Chamber’s 2026 Legislative Report Card, which was released early this month. The Chamber took into account over 4,l00 votes, while AIF focused on around 2,500.

Rep. Boyles did better when the larger sample size, 93%, but Rep. Salzman did worse with 79% on the Chamber Report Card.

Sen. Gaetz improved under the AIF sample, going from 89% with the Chamber to 91% with AIF. Rep. Andrade had the same percentage with both organizations, 92%
