Pensacola International Airport has scored a major win for summer travelers with American Airlines announcing new seasonal nonstop service to New York’s LaGuardia Airport beginning this June.
Details: The Saturday-only service will run from June 20 through Sept. 5, providing Northwest Florida residents with direct access to New York City during the peak summer travel season. American Airlines will operate the route with convenient morning departures from both cities. Flights from LaGuardia depart at 9:10 a.m., arriving in Pensacola at 11:15 a.m. The return flight leaves Pensacola at 11:45 a.m., landing at LaGuardia at 3:31 p.m.
Connecting Two Major Markets
“We’re excited to welcome this new seasonal nonstop service from American Airlines, which strengthens Pensacola’s connectivity to New York City while also making it easier for travelers to discover everything our region has to offer,” said Matt Coughlin, Executive Director of Pensacola International Airport. “This route not only supports tourism along the Gulf Coast but also provides our local community with direct access to a major business and cultural hub during the busy summer travel season.”
- The announcement reflects growing demand for nonstop service between Pensacola and major domestic markets. American Airlines already operates more flights from Pensacola International Airport than any other carrier, making this expansion a natural fit.
What This Means for Travelers
For Pensacola-area residents, the new route eliminates connection hassles for summer trips to New York City. Whether traveling for business, visiting family, or taking a vacation to the Northeast, passengers can now avoid the time and expense of connecting flights.
For New York travelers, the service opens a direct gateway to Pensacola’s white-sand beaches, historic downtown, and family-friendly attractions during prime vacation months.
“American is proud to offer more flights than any other airline from Pensacola International Airport and we’re excited to introduce New York service to the mix,” said Jordan Pack, American’s Director of Domestic Network Planning. “Our customers have told us they love to visit all that Pensacola has to offer and we cannot wait to welcome travelers on this new flight this summer.”
Booking Information
Tickets are now available for purchase at aa.com or through American’s mobile app. Travelers should book early for the best fares, especially for popular summer travel dates around Fourth of July and Labor Day weekend.
The Saturday-only schedule targets leisure travelers rather than business passengers, reflecting the seasonal tourism focus of the route. With service running through early September, the route captures the entire summer vacation season.
