Arrest in Okaloosa County home invasion

On Dec. 3 three armed Hispanic men forced their way into a home on Glory Place in Fort Walton Beach and stole the money. One of the men knocked on the door of the home and identified himself as a delivery person when a woman answered. He then forced his way in, pointed a gun at the woman’s head and let the other two men into the house. The men used clothing to tie up the woman. They then searched the home until they found a cash box with $78,000 hidden in a clothes hamper in an upstairs bedroom, took the money and left. Alexander I. Menjivar, 40, of Houston was arrested for the crime on Aug. 14. Read more.

Point: There are home invasions have been occurring in Northwest Florida since 2005. And they don’t have to involve murder.
