Audit surfaces issues with continuing ed at NAS Pensacola

The Florida Union Times has a story on audit issues regarding the continuing education at our local Navy bases.

The equivalent of 3,000 to 4,500 full-time students enrolled each year in continuing workforce education programs at Navy bases in Pensacola and Great Lakes, Ill., from 2006-07 through 2009-10 fiscal years. But state auditors said those classes, which FSCJ operates through contracts with the Navy, should not have counted toward the nearly 25,000 full-time students they reported — and those numbers played a role in a $1.8 million allocation the college received last year from the state.
