The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) will hold a public kick-off meeting concerning a feasibility study of State Road (S.R.) 196 (Bayfront Parkway) from Tarragona Street to S.R. 30 (U.S. 98/East Chase Street) in Escambia County. The meeting will be held on Tuesday, July 28, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., at the Crowne Plaza Pensacola Grand, 200 East Gregory Street, Pensacola.
The primary goal of this study is to enhance safety along Bayfront Parkway by recommending corridor improvements that maintain access to the Port of Pensacola and continue to provide for the movement of the traveling public. This includes identifying solutions to improve traffic flow within an area defined by the I-110 interchange, Port of Pensacola and Pensacola Bay Bridge. The meeting will be conducted in an open house format, with a brief presentation scheduled at 5:45 p.m. Representatives from FDOT will be available to discuss the project, answer questions and receive comments.
Public participation is solicited without regard to race, color, national origin, age, sex, religion, disability or family status. Persons who require special accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act or persons who require translation services (free of charge) should contact Victoria Wilson, FDOT Project Manager, toll-free at (888) 638-0250.
