Being fat takes the fun out of being a kid…

So does being the fat kid in commercials!

Anti-obesity advertisements from Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta have sparked controversy in Georgia: the ads don’t offer any solutions for parents. But we can also feel sorry  for the kids who they hired to do the spots. How much fun is school for them this week? ( Janet Jackson suffered through a few comments as a child on “Good Times” that still bother her today – and Karen Carpenter once was called “Richard Carpenter’s Chubby Little Sister” in an article. Perhaps somebody should have thought about how the label might be worse than the condition.)
