Not All Expected To Be Received
The Escambia County Supervisor of Elections says 24 overseas ballots have arrived so far.
The vote count in the Escambia County Commission District 4 race changed last night, giving challenger Joe Vinson a 19-vote lead over incumbent Ashlee Hofberger.
- Ashlee Hofberger (REP) 13,068 (49.96%)
- Joe Vinson (NPA) 13,087 (50.04%)
Totals rose from 26,037 to 26,155, an increase of 118 votes – 48 more for Hofberger and 70 more for Vinson.
The change came after elections staff processed 410 ballots countywide. Those ballots included provisionals, cures and imported signatures.
“Potentially we could have 63 more come back for District Four. The likelihood that all sixty-three come back is not likely.” —Bender
- Ballots are arriving at an average of three to four per day, and three or four came in on the day of the update.
- Ten-day overseas ballots will be processed next Friday (11/13).
Transparency, on purpose. Bender said he is proactively sharing these numbers and updating candidates directly. The goal, he indicated, is to preempt potential legal challenges by keeping everyone working from the same information.
