Big Bird puppeteer passes

Caroll Spinney, the puppeteer who played Big Bird and Oscar the Grouch on Sesame Street, passed away on Saturday. In September 2015, Spinney visited Pensacola State College as part of WSRE’s Public Square Speaker series to discuss his documentary, “I am Big Bird: the Caroll Spinney Story.”
