Boone report: HCA/West Florida says deal is alive

According to West Florida Hospital spokesman Kendrick Doidge, the $550 million deal that would have West Florida buyout Baptist Healthcare has been delayed.

Rumors have recently speculated the two had canceled the deal.

“They were having a delay in getting their money,” he says. “They were trying to get it through the bond market, but with the state of the economy, it does look like its going to happen by the end of the year.”
