BP is now threatening journalists

It was only a matter of time before BP starting restricting the media’s access to areas impacted by the BP Oil Spill. With heavy oil hitting the shores and marshes of Louisiana, BP doesn’t want anything to damage their stock prices and undermine the $70 million ad campaign that they are paying the state’s to run for them.

According to blogger Karl Burkart of the Mother Nature Network:
“Contacts in Louisiana have given me numerous, unconfirmed reports of cameras and cell phones being confiscated, scientists with monitoring equipment being turned away, and local reporters blocked from access to public lands impacted by the oil spill. But today CBS News got it on video, along with a bone-chilling statement by a Coast Guard official:”
