While the Escambia Board of County Commissioner is hearing from DOH Escambia director Dr. John Lanza, DOH Florida reports Escambia County has 194 new cases. Florida set a new record of 10,109.
In the county, 174 were Florida residents- median age 37, positivity rate 19.4%. New records for new cases and positivity for Escambia. 895 test results reported.

Update:Â Escambia also tallied its first July death – moving total to 45. Hospitalizations increased by four to 98. The new cases had eight connected to local nursing homes – total 353.
Santa Rosa’s median age was 30 for July 1; the positivity rate 15.2% on 395 test results. Hospitalizations increase by five to 38.
As of 11 p.m. Escambia County had seven ICU beds available – 5.93% of the county’s capacity.
